![]() While Market Dominant price increases are limited based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Competitive prices are adjusted strategically, since there is competition to what the USPS offers. The proposed prices would raise Market Dominant prices approximately 1.9%, and most Competitive prices will average a 3.9% increase. The new prices, if approved, include a one-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail® Forever® stamp from 49 cents to 50 cents. The prices will go into effect on January 21, 2018, pending PRC approval.
